CRCT....Ugh!

It's finally that time of year... yes, the dreaded CRCT! Today was Day 1 with Reading Comprehension and I am wiped out! I think the kids did well, though. No meltdowns which was awesome! Only 2 more days and then we're finished and I will be so happy!
Tonight, I'm going to bed early! In fact, it's only 4:45pm and I'm already ready for bed! Eight o'clock can't come soon enough!
(Oh, and only 22 days left of school! Yippee!!)

Babies, Babies EVERYWHERE!

My goodness! So many babies lately! Let's see... So far there's Katelyn, Suzanna, and Jenna at work, and just Tuesday (yeah, Tax Day!) my cousin Carly had Miss Olivia Keomela and boy! is she cute!

First bath... not a happy girl!

Ah, happy now!
Introducing Miss Olivia!

I can't wait to snuggle up on her! Hopefully, I'll get back to OK to do that soon! But in the meantime, I need to be better at visiting my friends here who have babies.

All these babies (and my perpetual lurking on all these adoption blogs!) has really put me in the mood for my own little one. Sadly, that makes it even harder to know that we have a 3+ year wait ahead of us! I know God has a plan and I have to trust in it, but sometimes it's hard. First Friday's help and I'm sure being more active in the 'blogging circle' will help, too. I know I'm not the only one waiting so that makes me feel a little better!

Our Very First Blog!

Hello All!

This is our new and improved very first blog! Just a little about us...

Vuong and I met on eHarmony in July of 2005. He lived in Atlanta and I lived in Houston. Our first date was September 10, 2005 in Dallas, TX. We went to a Rangers game (they lost!) but we felt like we'd won the World Series! Almost immediately we 'knew' and one year and twenty days later, we were married in Galveston, TX. Currently, we are waiting to start our paperchase. We were ready to start in January of 07, but the list of 'changes' was looming on the horizon and we no longer qualified because we'd only been married 4 months. Hope For Children just didn't think we could get everything done by the cut off date. So, we've had to wait until our 2nd wedding anniversary. We're starting everything in June with the hopes that our dossier will be completed, in China, and logged in on September 30, 2008... our second anniversary! We do find comfort in knowing that we won't be the ONLY parents in Hoverounds at our daughters high school graduation!

I was born in Japan (my dad was in the Army) but grew up in OK in a suburb of Oklahoma City. I lived there until I graduated from college and moved to Texas to teach Kindergarten. My family still lives within 10 miles of each other! I am the oldest of 3 girls. I have a son, Grady, who will be 20 at the end of April. Both my sisters are married and have kids. Michelle and Joey have 2 boys... Carson is 5 and Jack is almost 1. Jennifer and Mike have 1 daughter... Maddie will be 9 this summer. We are a very close family, despite the distance between us.

Vuong was born in Vietnam and moved to the Dallas, TX area when he was 4. He grew up in a suburb of Dallas and his parents, brother, and one sister still live there. His oldest sister Uyen and her husband Tom live in Alpharetta. They have 2 kids... Jacob is 6 and Gracyn is 3. His sister Christine isn't married, but we're keeping our fingers crossed! His brother Alex still lives at home. Vuong's family is also very close. His parents come to GA to visit at least twice a year and we always look forward to their visits.

So, now you know most of our life stories, minus all the little details. I'm sure over time, those will come out. :o)

Thanks for stopping by!
Steph (and Vuong)
